Steve played VB at Michigan Tech for three years, twice competing in national competitions at the University of Texas and the University of Maryland. Since graduating from MTU in 2000 he has continued to play outdoor and indoor volleyball.  "I began coaching for WAYVA for the 2001-2002 season.  I look forward to working with this year's 15-1s team as they strive to reach the next level of confidence and ability in their volleyball career."

15-2   Chelsea Leines

Chelsea was a Wayzata High School varsity player and part of the team that went to the state tournament in 2004. She played through high school and college and is now excited to be coaching for the program where she was a Junior Olympian. She is an amazing setter and coached the 15-2 team during the WAYVA 2008 season.

Gerry has been playing VB for 17 years.  He played for the UW-Eau Claire men's club team for 5 seasons and went to nationals each year finishing no less than ninth any year, receiving an all-American nomination and 2nd place finish in ‘98. He began coaching in 2001 for Midwest Juniors in Madison, WI before moving to our area in 2004. He coached for MN Select for 2 years and then moved to WAYVA for the 2005-2006 season.  He is a certified MSHSL, USAV, and NCAA official.

14-2   Jessica Fairbourne

Jess is returning for her second season with WAYVA, despite just having her first child. She has played on high school, college and JO teams. She wanted to give others the chance to have the same great experiences she did. She coached at the 14s level last season.

This will be John's 7th season with WAYVA. He has coached 12s, 13s and 14s. John has received his Certificate of Accreditation from USA Volleyball by completing their Coaching Accredition Program (CAP) Level I courses. He enjoys playing volleyball in recreational leagues and tournaments.

13-2   Krystle Boehmer

Krystle has been playing since the 5th grade. She played at LeRoy-Ostrander HS in South Eastern MN. She also played college volleyball at UW-LaCrosse. Krystle coached at the 13s level last year and is excited to be back, despite recently getting married, moving, and buying a house.

Jackie Thoennes is going into her 5th year coaching for WAYVA. She has coached fundamental skill camps at Ralia Sports Center and has coached at the 12s and 13s level.  Jackie enjoys playing on summer volleyball leagues, reffing adult leagues during the summer and coaching in the winter.  Jackie loves volleyball and loves to share that passion.  She has two daughters that are following in their mother’s footsteps and are great young players.

12-2   Steve and Cindy Bouma

Steve and Cindy have been coaching with WAYVA for 7 years. They have coached at the 12s, 13s, and 14s levels. They play on indoor and outdoor leagues through the year and want their young athletes to share their love of the game. Steve and Cindy are both IMPACT and CAP level I certified coaches.
