Tryouts and Registration

A big thank you to all the players who joined us for our Sample Sessions and Open Gyms.  We hope you had as much fun as we did.  We will see about renting additional gym space next season for Open Gyms as they were well attended on both nights.

We hope to see many of you at Tryouts this weekend.  There have been a couple of questions about forms.  If you can fill out the following two forms and bring them with you to tryouts, we will have any other needed forms available. The forms needed are:

North Country Region Volleyball Membership Form:  18-Junior-Membership-Forms-2

Medical Release Form:   2018-Player-Medical-Release-w-ClubTeam-WITHOUT-Notary

Team Formation

If you are selected for a team, you will be given additional forms to complete.  You will be asked to arrange for payment for the season so bring your checkbook. We do not accept online payment at this time as it would add another cost to your team fee.  Please review the uniform sizes selected for your player to make sure they seem correct. Samples are available at the tryout session if you want to see them try something on.

Spirit Wear

Our uniform provider also offers a selection of spirit wear if you choose.  There are fleece and sweatshirt options that will have the Wayzata Volleyball logo embroidered on them, as well as short or long sleeve T-shirts that will match the practice Tees each player will receive. Tees will have the Wayzata screen print on the front. These are offered only at the start of the season so they can be delivered with uniforms in December.  There is no obligation to order any of these items. Parents often ask for something to wear when attending competitions so we offer a selection each year.  Please print the order form and turn it in on the night that your team is selected.

If You Are Not Selected

If can be very disheartening to try your best and still not get picked for a spot on a team.  If you did your best out there, that is all you could do. Other players may have more experience or have done slightly better during the tryout process.  You had the courage to come and tryout when MANY others did not. Please keep playing and working on your skills as this is a great sport to participate in through your whole life! There may be other VB clubs in our area that are offering tryouts that still need you.  You can check the calendar of upcoming tryouts at the NCR site here:

Keep playing – in the backyard, at school during PE, attend summer VB camps, find recreational leagues, open gyms – anything that gives you a chance to get touches on a VB and practice the game will make you a better player. The outcome may be MUCH different next time – do not give up!!!
