If you are trying to determine which age group to choose when registering your player, please use the information below.

WAYVA always allows the player to tryout with their school grade.  If you are in 8th grade, you may be evaluated for a 14s team. If you are in 7th grade, you may be evaluated for a 13s team.  If you are in 5th-6th grade, you may be evaluated for a 12s team. That continues to be true for this 2020-2021 season.

The USA Volleyball organization updated the official age qualifications to use a July 1 date, beginning this season. If this applies to your situation, you may want to consider the following when choosing which age group to register for:

16 and Under Division: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2004
15 and Under Division: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2005
14 and Under Division: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2006
13 and Under Division: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2007
12 and Under Division: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2008
Note: WAYVA only offers 12s, 13s, and 14s teams during most seasons

An example, if a player is in 8th grade, she may choose to register for evaluation as a 14s player along with her classmates.  However, if her birthday was July 10, 2007, she would be eligible for evaluation as a 13s player due to her age. She could register for 13s rather than 14s.
